Organizing your files When organizing your files on your computer it is helpful to visualize a tree. Your file structure should fan out like the branches of a tree.
For instance, in your folder called My Documents, you could call your folders FOOD, MONEY, GAMES, PICTURES, SOUNDS. In each of these folders you can store items related to the name of the folder.
In this way all your files will be in places that you can find them.
Emails received and sent can fill your screen (and your hard drive). If you have read an email and do not need to see it again, you can delete it. If you want to save particular emails, create folders and store these emails in folders with names that sort them into recognizable categories.
Get control of your computer files. Plan how to organize them so that you can find them on your hard drive
